"System Failure" and "Lockout" are notifications you never want to see on your Infinity thermostat, coupled with no heat as the temperature drops outside. Called Conde, and Joe said he could have a tech out between 7-8 pm that day. Much to my surprise Tech Larry called around 5 pm with a cancellation & said he could be over shortly. We were overjoyed! The thought of a night with no heat was "chilling." Larry checked out the system, which worked perfectly, and "rebooted" the thermostat. He advised me how to cancel "system failure" message should it occur in future.His rather profound:comment: "the thermostat is just a computer attached to a furnace" made sense: you simply treated it as a computer, and "rebooted." Larry was knowledgeable, researched the problem (same as prior year), checked out furnace thoroughly, and made sure it worked properly, before resetting the thermostat. Could not have been more impressed. And Larry was very personable to boot! Great customer service! Highly recommend, both company and tech Larry Ward!.

On Wednesday afternoon, October 13, 2021, I heard a shrill, piercing sound that I could not identify, but that had me very worried. At the same time, I noticed that the Infinity thermostat had a malfunction message: “shut down system,” which I did. However, the shrill piercing sound continued. When I went down to the basement, I found water all over the utility room floor! I called Conde Tech Services (Matt had installed the Carrier furnace and smart thermostat a year ago) and his office manager advised me that Matt was booked all day, but that he could come over after 6 pm. (My former HVAC company provided only next day service!) At about 7 pm, Matt called and said he was on his way, and would figure out the cause of the water flow. To my great relief, he and his assistant arrived shortly thereafter. Matt exmined the thermostat and the utility room. When he saw the water, he immediately concluded that it was a leaking hot water heater, not the new furnace. While Matt turned off all the water valves, his assistant picked up the two water sensors on the floor and wiped them off. Much to my relief, the sound stopped. (The rising water had set them off.) Matt told me that the rising water could ruin the new furnace, an expensive prospect!. To avoid this potential disaster, he immediately called his friend, Wael Thabet, who owned Ruma Plumbing Service, and explained the problem. Wael concurred that it was the water heater, and offered to install one immediately- I told him I preferred the next morning. Wael arrived at the crack of dawn the next morning, and promptly drained/removed the old tank and installed a new one, in less than 3 hours!) Matt even came by later that day to inspect the work and ensure that his referral had “done right by us.” He was very satisfied with all work done. (And there’s no water in the basement!) We could not have been more pleased with Matt’s handling of the situation, including his referral. I can’t recommend Conde Tech Services highly enough - great customer service!
